Algorithmic two-channel video installation using deep neural networks

As a Machine Learning programmer in this project. This video visualises a depth map computed using a neural network, applied to Maya Deren's martial arts film Meditation on Violence, a work about the interconnection between space, motion, and embodiment. The video highlights the tension between figure and ground, as the protagonist sometimes escapes from the background and sometimes merges with it.
